Caring for All of God's Children
I just wanted to take a minute or two to welcome you to this community. My name is Jess and, while I am not a parent myself, I am in school to become a special educator. With my degree, it is my goal to help churches better equip themselves to serve families with special needs. On a day-to-day basis, a parent of a special needs child is reminded by professionals what their child cannot do. As Christians, it is our job/mission/wonderful privelige to say to these families "Not only will your child walk, but some day he will leap for joy in the presence of the Savior of the world."
I do not regret that I do not see the things of this world. It is far more valuable that the first thing my eyes will see (and cognitively process) is the face of my King Jesus. So, let us all encourage, pray and share. Every one of God's children is a precious gift and perhaps this community will enable us all to be a bit more up-lifted in our roles in caring for these kids.
Once again, Welcome.
